DrinkingVery pretty luminous red color. Red cherry, violet, lime, red apple, and a hint of cassis combine for a refined fruity impression on the nose. Then follows up with expressive juicy flavors of fresh red cherry, ginger and repeating violet notes with harmonious acidity causing Pavlov dog-like saliva-induction on the long, refreshing close. Another lovely Brunello from a talented Montalcino producer.

Sesti are one of the most delightfully individual producers in Armit’s portfolio. Giuseppe Maria Sesti and his daughter Elisa hold just 13 hectares of vines in a unique micro-climate in southern Montalcino, Sesti produces elegant Sangiovese with a distinct floral note. Self-described as “eclectic by nature”, Giuseppe ran a Baroque Opera festival for thirty years while restoring the the medieval the Castello di Argiano, which features on their labels, and developing the vineyards. Having written no fewer than five books on astronomy, Giuseppe considers the influence of the moon indispensable to viticulture and Sesti makes wine according to biodynamic practices.
