Frequently over shadowed by the wines of Chassagne-Montrachet or Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin has seen a remarkable renaissance over the last few years. The white limestone and clay soils of the vineyards, between an altitude of 300 and 350 metres, produce excellent whites. The Premier Cru "Sur Gamay" is on a perfect exposure facing southeast and east.
Reviews & Scores
Mild reduction doesn't completely mask the mostly floral and pear-scented aromas. Otherwise there is excellent volume and mid-palate fat to the delicious, caressing and solidly concentrated medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the well-balanced and complex finale. Lovely stuff that is fashioned in an understated style that should also age well.
