Tasting Notes

This wine is seductively plush on the nose with plum and crunchy red berries. The palate shows incredible depth of dark, layered fruit with integrated sweet spice wrapped in a powerful, sculpted structure which radiates poise and finesse on the complex, persistent finish. Drink from 2021.

In 1995 Jean-Marie Fourrier took over the winemaking from his father Jean-Claude, who had been making the wines since 1967, at first in partnership with his uncle, from whom many of the vines were inherited. Jean-Marie has a broader perspective than many of his fellow winemakers, as he spent time making Pinot Noir in Oregon, as well as training in France. Today, Domaine Fourrier is achieving critical acclaim but Jean-Marie is still young and ambitious to achieve even more. His star may be firmly in the ascendant but his feet are firmly rooted in the vineyards of Gevrey. See More

Ripe and concentrated red and black fruit shows poise and restraint. The palate is open and perfumed with bright red fruit, roses and violets with savoury undercurrents of tea leaf and brown spices.
