A fine and silky red with dark-berry and chocolate character. Medium body and a fresh finish. Production down 90% from frost.
90-91 Points, James Suckling
This vintage of Grand Village has produced just 9% of the production of 2016. Medium garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Grand Village has pretty notes of powdered cinnamon, wood smoke, Bing cherries and black raspberries with a waft of lavender. Medium-bodied and velvety, it has good mid-palate density and a long spicy finish.
89-91 Points, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate
The 2017 Grand Village was picked from 21 to 30 September. It has an attractive mulberry and blackberry scented bouquet with a light sea spray influence. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannin, quite saline in the mouth with an approachable, sappy finish. Fine, although there is only 10% of the normal production.
87-89 Points, Neal Martin
