The 2017 Pommard Village, which comes from Les Cras and Vaumuriens, had not been racked, unlike the Volnay Village. It has a vivid, floral bouquet that conveys impressive vibrancy. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of juicy ripe dark cherry fruit mixed with boysenberries, almost Volnay-like in its roundness and silky texture. This will be irresistible in its youth. 88-90 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous Deepish crimson. Rich, ripe and dark fruited with a wild tangy note of cranberry to balance the dark sweetness. Firm and silky at the same time, a lovely cool length. One moment chewy, the next silky. 16/20 Points, Julia Harding, JancisRobinson.com
