Domaine Louis Boillot has numerous Premier Cru vineyard holdings in both the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, the largest of which is situated in Gevrey-Chambertin. Louis' father, Lucien Boillot originally hailed from Volnay, where his father ran Domaine Henri Boillot, but settled in Gevrey-Chambertin in the 1950s and founded Domaine Lucien Boillot et Fils. Louis released the first Domaine Louis Boillot vintage in 2003 from his cellars in Chambolle-Musigny, which he shares with partner Ghislaine Barthod – winemaker and owner of Domaine Ghislaine Barthod. The two domaines are managed completely independently of one another and the wines are also vinified separately.
