Tasting Notes

"Serralunga d’Alba. Very pale ruby. Stunning nose of crushed raspberry and stony, savoury notes. Lots of juice and fragrant, lithe raspberry fruit on the palate. Fine, sandy tannins that stick to the fruit on the palate. Fantastic balance and length."
17++ Points, Walter Speller, Jancis Robsinson

"Pale ruby in the glass, with gianduia chocolate, redcurrants, dried cherry and dried flowers. Filigreed tannins dominate the palate, with a chewy finish and brilliant acidity allied to 14% of alcohol. Exquisite Cerretta expression. Vinified in concrete vats in contact with the skins for about 25 days, with daily pumpovers and a délestage halfway through. It typically ages in 25-hectolitre French oak vessels for between 18 and 30 months, depending on the vintage, but in 2020 it spent 36 months in oak."
92 Points, Also Fiordelli, Decanter

ProducerDavide Fregonese

A childhood dream finally realised - that is what Davide Fregonese achieved when he established Bugia Nen. With the assistance of Davide Rosso, he acquired a few hectares in one of Barolo’s most prized terroirs, Serralunga d’Alba, and embarked on this new venture. The unique conditions of Prapò and Cerretta produce tense, long-lived, and pure expressions of Nebbiolo, offering an extraordinary delight in the glass. Although still in his early vintages, the potential of this rising star is already clearly evident.
