In 1908 Winston Churchill placed his first order for Pol Roger and his association with the house lasted until his death. During the second world war he had it on hand at all times, borrowing a quote from Napoleon, 'I cannot live without Champagne'.
Reviews & Scores
Light gold with abundant, fine bubbles. Smoky, mineral-driven aromas of butter, toast, yellow apple and white flowers, with a hint of herbs arriving with air. Juicy, nicely concentrated orchard fruit and cherry pit flavors are sweetened by a gentle honeycomb quality and turn firmer with air. The buttery note repeats on the broad, sappy finish.
