Viña Ardanza 1989
There is a touch of Grenache in the 1989 Vina Ardanza Reserva. The wine's medium garnet color reveals an amber edge. A sweet, caramel, smoky, strawberry, tobacco, and tar-scented nose is followed by an elegant, round, medium-bodied wine with good richness, refreshing but soft acidity, and a heady, nicely nuanced, layered finish.
Robert Parker

Viña Ardanza 2000
The 2000 Reserva Vina Ardanza has 25% Garnacha blended with the Tempranillo. Light to medium ruby, it delivers an enticing bouquet of cedar, spice box, leather, forest floor, black cherry, and blackberry. This leads to a ripe, moderately dense wine with complex flavors and excellent balance.
Jay S Miller, The Wine Advocate

Viña Ardanza 2001
The 2001 Vina Ardanza is a blend of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha. Medium ruby-colored, it reveals a complex perfume of earth, mineral, truffle, incense, and black cherry. Elegant on the palate, it has splendid balance, savory flavors, outstanding concentration, and a lengthy, pure finish. Its drinking window should extend from 2011 to 2031.

ProducerLa Rioja Alta S.A.

Formed by five families in the late 19th century, the La Rioja Alta S.A. winery is one of the most iconic names in Fine Wine, and a benchmark for the traditional style of Rioja. Their Tempranillo-led reds are aged for remarkably long periods in barrels from the producer’s cooperage, and they are one of the last remaining producers to rack their wines by hand and by candlelight – which they do every six months. While they always upheld standards and tradition, La Rioja Alta S.A. never stopped experimenting and pushing for better quality, offering some of the purest, more precise expressions of Tempranillo in the world.
