"Rather more colour here with a certain depth of raspberry fruit, still quite reticent. There is certainly more density on the palate, raspberry and dark cherry, easily enough for the structure. Solid darker fruit in style." 88-91, Jasper Morris

"Mid crimson purple. Immediately there is a sense of much great depth and concentration here compared to the village wine. Raspberry seedless, pushes down to a much greater depth than the straight Fixin, and fills the mouth. An excellent aftertaste." 90-92, Jasper Morris

"Dark purple. More backward, dense fruit, less explosive than the Bonnes Mares, but at least as deep. Just short of a chocolate note but super ripe raspberry nonetheless. Does it quite have the finesse? Maybe. The Clos de Bèze certainly has the energy and the backbone which allows for a fresher finish. Ripe through and through." 94-96, Jasper Morris
