Spending any time with Nicolas Potel in Burgundy can't help but to make even the most ardent of critics a lifelong convert. Nicolas is another man of boundless energy but his approach is very organic, adhering to the natural rhythms wherever possible. Such an unforced, careful, natural and sensitive approach is reflected perfectly in his wine and Nicolas has brought a breath of fresh air to Burgundy over the last decade and more. Quite simply, he remains one of Burgundy's brightest talents.

A deep compelling nose of smoky, exotic oak spice backed up by sweet black cherries, toast, liquorice spice and an enticing hint of rose petal. The tannins are fine and grippy and persist well into the long finish. This is going to develop into an incredibly interesting wine. Drink from 2026.
Powerful grippy tannins and fresh acidity are swathed in concentrated dark cherries and briar fruit. Intense, depths of liquorice, toast and oak spice form a rich backdrop to the dark brooding fruit. It will take time to resolve but will be worth the wait. Drink from 2024.
