The Girard family descends from several generations of winemakers in the small village of Chaudoux, a few miles northwest of Sancerre and directly north of Chavignol. Alain Girard now leads the estate, carefully tending 12 hectares of vines, with only the best of their production bottled under the family label. A state-of-the-art cellar, combining the finest modern technology with traditional viticultural practices and minimal intervention in both vineyard and winery, results in beautifully crafted Sancerre.
