Garnet red colour. Ample, complex and elegant bouquet with reminiscences of rose, ripe fruit, truffle and spices. Its flavour is dry, full, generous, harmonious and velvety.

Reviews & Scores

The purity of fruit to this is truly outstanding, with dried strawberries, spices and flowers, including roses. Full body with ultra-fine tannins and a beautiful fruit-tannin balance. Super-elegant. This is a joy to taste now but will reward those who are patient. Wait until 2016 and see.
95 points, James Suckling

A rich, dark wine with superb intensity of flavour and great balance from a unique vineyard site at the top of the hill. The elegant bouquet is reminiscent of delicate strawberries, roses and ripe red fruits with a hint of exotic herbs and truffles. The palate is rich and layered with generous, dark cherry flavours balanced by smooth, velvety tannins and refreshing acidity. Exotic spices, truffles and chocolate with wild herb characters and a mineral note on the finish add depth and complexity. This very complex wine will be delicious to drink in a few years. 2017. A rich, dark wine with superb intensity.
Armit Wines

Round and supple, with firm tannins underneath, this red evokes cherry, wild strawberry, tobacco, leather and underbrush flavors. Harmonious in a taut, dense way, offering a long, savory finish. Becomes racier with air, showing fine energy and drive.

Outstandingly intense nose, with light balsamic tertiary aromas of tobacco, caramel, incense and spices against a background of ripe fruit. Consistent and well-balanced in the mouth, with fine, elegant tannins....

TASTING NOTES

An intensely favoured and complex wine which combines the elegance of the Chianti region with the darker, more sumptuous flavours of the coastal Maremma vineyards. A bouquet of bright red cherries with deeper damson and blackberry fruit characters mingles with attractive violet and rose petal notes. The palate is multi-layered and richly flavoured with plenty of ripe forest fruit characters...
