Perhaps less fruity than the Clos du Bourg, but just as full and fleshy on the palate. Ripe without being overblown, thanks to fine acidic structure. Perhaps needs a few years to open up. 13%. Drink 2018-2024.

Tasting Notes

Le Mont is instantly mineral in nature; the lovely orchard scents are lifted by green pear flesh, and accented with a grippy citrus-pith.  The palate has intense texture and flinty minerality  which finishes with a very appealing hint of ripeness. This wine is all about texture and tension. Stunning now, this will no doubt unfurl over the next 3-5 years.

ProducerDomaine Huet

Few producers can claim a level of influence to almost identify with their appellation – one of those is Domaine Huet. This iconic estate has been one of the standard-bearers of Vouvray since 1928. A true pioneer, Gaston Huet was one of the first vignerons to adopt biodynamic practices and to focus on single-vineyard bottlings. Remaining true to the philosophy of the founders, Sarah Hwang and Jean-Bertrand Berthomé continue to craft superbly long-lived Chenin Blanc from their three vineyards. From lively sparkling to unctuous Moelleux, the Domaine Huet range is the most extraordinary way to venture into Vouvray. See More
