Tasting Notes
Overall, there is a profound sense of purity and intensity - vibrant fruit supported by super ripe acidity, with haunting minerality and a ripe tannic frame. Seductive aromatics of cassis, violets and dried, almost sweet herbs lead to a palate brimming with ripe, dark, intense fruit. The sheer density of this majestic wine is deftly balanced with a core of graphite minerality and freshness. Surprisingly expressive for this stage in its evolution, but will undoubtedly mature into a wine of extreme stature for those patient enough to wait.
Reviews & Scores
This is complex and fascinating. At first taste it is like a great California Cabernet mixed with a first growth Bordeaux. Delicious licorice, mint, and currants on the palate. Full bodied, chewy, with ultra fine tannins. A gorgeous, classy wine that needs to be left in the cellar for at least 5 years. Have fun with this one after 2015.
