Again, super-finely textured tannins give the wine backbone and create a supporting structure for rich fruit flavors. There?s just enough consistency here to fill the palate, yet the wine is never heavy or flat. It shows vibrant energy thanks to the natural freshness and that beautiful note of garden fresh red rose that pops up as nostalgic sign-off. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2040? Tasting Notes

Produced in remarkable years, this magnificently harmonious and deeply flavoured wine has great ageing potential. Incredibly complex and delicious, it has an enveloping bouquet of wild roses, bright red cherries, plums and exotic spices. The palate is intense and pure with layers of sweet strawberry and dark cassis flavours mingled with hints of dried summer fruits with notes of leather and tobacco on the long finish. Smooth, seamless tannins provide the perfect structure. A wonderfully balanced, elegant and vibrant wine with excellent length, this is an exceptional achievement by Giacosa. Drink from 2019.
