Tasting Notes

A wonderfully aromatic wine with an enveloping bouquet of rose petals, sweet cherries and raspberries with hints of exotic dried fruits and incense. On the palate, deep layers of perfumed red berry fruits and delicate spices swirl around the mouth leading to an incredibly long and refreshing finish. Extremely elegant and beautifully refined, this extraordinary wine will mature for several decades developing magnificent complexity. 2011 was a warm but regular vintage without extremes. Dry weather through August until the harvest and a good diurnal temperature range, with cool nights, in the Autumn allowed for ripe silken tannins and promoted aromatic complexity. Drink from 2019.

ProducerBruno Giacosa

Known as the “Genius of Neive”, Bruno Giacosa’s mastery of Nebbiolo was widely recognised amongst wine lovers. His single-vineyards Barolo and Barbaresco set new standards for the whole regions, allowing a unique blend of traditional and cutting-edge methods. His research of perfection was passed on to his daughter Bruna, who has been at the helm of the estate since 2006, blessing us with some of the most electrifying wines in our portfolio. From the floral Barbera to the tensest Nebbiolos, Bruno Giacosa’s wines are an incredible delight to discover.
