Tasting Notes

61% Merlot/39% Cabernet Franc The spiciness of Cabernet Franc combines with the generous, plump aromas of Merlot. We remain in fresh red fruit territory with sufficient tension and precise detail and- perhaps the vintage hallmark- those terrific, juicy tannins again, along with an extra dash of cream. As you work the wine on the palate, it really starts to move through the gears, leaving the richness of the attack behind, with the finish showing admirable persistence and trailing floral aromatics. This is really very good: a year or three in bottle will certainly be beneficial. Drink 2019-2025+

TASTING NOTES

"Asolutely delicious left bank claret, roughly two thrids merlot with the rest cabernet sauvignon. Bellecrox is a hop and a skip from Graves, hence its taste-alike mature, gamey, classy, cigar smoke-scented fruit. Claret like this could easily set you back a few pounds more."Jane Macquitty’s column on the Times Top 100 Wines of Summer, 06/2022

TASTING NOTES

74% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Sémillon. Barrel sample. Fragrant and pure with pin-point precision. All in length and line. Floral, citrus aromas. Delicious fruit but again controlled, the finish pebble-sucking and saline. Atypical white Bordeaux. Could be burgundy – Puligny? JR
