Tasting Notes

"The 2024 Boggina A is 100% Sangiovese vinified and aged in amphora. Crushed flowers, herbs, mint and sweet dried cherry all grace this nuanced red. Readers should expect an ethereal wine that favors floral and savory overtones more than primary fruit. The 2024 is very pretty and boasts a ton of character. It's an undeniable success for the year."
93+ Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

“A very refined, drinkable red, showing terra-cotta, cedar, hints of chocolate and fresh mushrooms. Light- to medium-bodied with a firm backbone and a fresh, delicious finish. Rejoice in the light color. Only 12.4% alcohol. Aged in amphorae. From organically grown grapes. Drink now.”
94 Points, James Suckling

ProducerPetrolo

Petrolo is situated in the Val d’Arno within the Tuscan hills, an area not widely known. This family-owned estate, with 26 hectares of vineyards in the hills of eastern Chianti just outside the Chianti Classico boundary, lies between 250 and 450 metres above sea level. Often described as one of Tuscany’s cult wineries, this Super Tuscan estate has a history dating back to the 1700s. However, it was in the 1990s that Petrolo established its reputation among the leaders of the Tuscan wine revolution, thanks to its Merlot, Galatrona, first produced in 1994.
