Tasting Notes

A confident, assertive nose, which is instantly recognizable as Margaux. Violet overlaying rich black fruits, very appealing. On the palate, the confidence continues but there is also unmistakable charm and grace here too. Given time in the mouth and more air, the wine begins to reveal itself but clearly there is much more to come and the excellent length on the finish confirms the unmistakable class. Drink 2019-2030+ 16.5 points. 16.5

Reviews & Scores

Decanter: Fine black red, very expressive black fruits with the elegant lift from Cabernet, fine density of fruit, very good natural middle sweetness and lots of depth and vineyard character, a very good wine. Drink 2015-25. 18

74% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Sémillon. Barrel sample. Fragrant and pure with pin-point precision. All in length and line. Floral, citrus aromas. Delicious fruit but again controlled, the finish pebble-sucking and saline. Atypical white Bordeaux. Could be burgundy – Puligny? JR
