Tasting Notes

Very ripe, dark fruit aromas with hints of spice and smoke. Rich and full bodied on the palate with layers of blackberry and cassis fruit. Excellent, structured tannins balance the succulent, smooth flavours. Dark chocolate notes on the finish give character and depth. Very well done. Drink 2016 - 2025

Reviews & Scores

2010: One of the finest Belgraves I have ever tasted, this sleeper of the vintage boasts an opaque purple color along with abundant aromas of blackberries and cassis, a classy mid-palate, medium to full-bodied flavors, superb depth and crisp freshness as well as liveliness. Over recent years the large negociant firm of Dourthe has been making improvements and resurrecting the quality of this forgotten Medoc classified growth. The 2010 will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring and should keep for 15 or more.

74% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Sémillon. Barrel sample. Fragrant and pure with pin-point precision. All in length and line. Floral, citrus aromas. Delicious fruit but again controlled, the finish pebble-sucking and saline. Atypical white Bordeaux. Could be burgundy – Puligny? JR
