Tasting Notes

A very refined, detailed wine with a lifted, sweet bouquet of delicate red fruits intermingled with exotic, dried herb notes and a hint of lavender. The palate is very elegant with delicate strawberry fruits which have an aromatic, ethereal quality. All this is balanced by very refined tannins and a fluid, perfectly integrated acidity. Drink from 2015.

ProducerDomaine Fourrier

In 1995 Jean-Marie Fourrier took over the winemaking from his father Jean-Claude, who had been making the wines since 1967, at first in partnership with his uncle, from whom many of the vines were inherited. Jean-Marie has a broader perspective than many of his fellow winemakers, as he spent time making Pinot Noir in Oregon, as well as training in France. Today, Domaine Fourrier is achieving critical acclaim but Jean-Marie is still young and ambitious to achieve even more. His star may be firmly in the ascendant but his feet are firmly rooted in the vineyards of Gevrey.  See More
