Tasting Notes

The set is completed via a virtuoso Chevalier that opens with an exotic array of perfumes, recalling Oriental spices and scents, quite beyond the range of the preceeding wines. You can feel the ripeness in the wine but it has such control over its performance you cannot help but be carried by it as it moves, twists and turns, ever graceful and weaving patterns that only it can see. Subtle, engaging and endlessly fascinating, a wine that leaves behind the task of empirical assessment and connects to a less tangible, more spiritual dimension. Drink from 2019.

TASTING NOTES

A vivid mid-ruby, dried rose petal and balsamic scented reserva, still showing vibrant raspberry fruit and fresh acid. Chocolate-coated cherry character with hints of vanilla, but in a far more restrained way than in classic Rioja wines. Superb structure with ripe, fine-grained tannins and a tar-like grip towards the end of the long finish. Armit Wines
