Romano Dal Forno is a very rare and special winery few can match globally. The wines are some of the most consistently high-scoring and long lived in Italy.
As UK importer of this fine estate, we are very pleased to be able to offer a wonderful ex-cellar collection to peruse. Primarily known for the Amarone the estate also makes Valpolicella Superiore as well as the sweet red, Vigna Sere. The selection includes the extraordinarily rare large formats, a wonderful centrepiece for years to come.
Special and handcrafted with the artisan flair and painstaking dedication- it takes seven vines to produce just one bottle of Valpolicella and ten vines to make a single, very special bottle of Amarone. Vigna Sere is a sweet red wine made only in the finest vintages, and then stored in the cellars to mature. The 2004 is the current release. This ultra-concentration of the vines leads to powerful, complex but beautifully balanced wines. It also makes it clear why the large formats are such a rare beast. This combined with Michele Dal Forno’s fastidious winemaking results in unique wines that are some of the most highly lauded in Italy, with an international reputation to match. These are must haves for any collector of Italian wines.
