For nearly a century, Domaine Huet’s rare Moelleux 1ère Tries have come to define the wonder of this historic estate in Vouvray.

These pristine sweet wines are usually only made between two and four times a decade. It is rarer still to find Moelleux 1ère Tries from all three single vineyards in the same vintage.

1997 was that vintage. It is in a league with the greatest ever vintages at the domaine alongside 1947, 1959, 1971, 1990 and, more recently, 2015. Replete with incredible levels of botrytis, the durability and pedigree of these wines is second to none.

The twentieth anniversary of this legendary vintage provides us with a unique opportunity to offer a limited parcel of 1997 Le Haut Lieu, Clos du Bourg and Le Mont 1ère Tries. Our prized allocation comes direct from the domaine’s cellars in Vouvray, unmoved for two decades. The provenance is as unique as the wines themselves.

These are breath-taking, rare sweet wines in their absolute prime of life. Their unfaltering richness and crystalline nature mean they will eclipse many of their peers by at least another twenty years or more.
