CHÂTEAU AUSONE

Château Ausone is perched on the hillside in the southern outskirts of the village of Saint Emilion, named after the Roman poet Ausonius. With 7.3 hectares of vines and its vineyards on a steep, south-east facing slope they flourish with the protection from cold north winds and westerly rain. Nowadays this has continued with the ubiquitous Michel Rolland as consultant,  now producing ultra-rich, exotically fruity wines that benefit from ageing.
