With a domaine that was established at the end of the 18th century, Etienne Grivot has often felt the weight of history. Joining his father Jean in 1982, Etienne's first ten years at the Domaine were a time of experimentation and by his own admission, the results were not always to his standards. Whilst the health of the vineyards had improved dramatically, the winemaking remained a work in progress. 1993 marked a turning point, however, since then the trajectory of Domaine Grivot has been nothing but upwards. An east to south facing vineyard with deep calcerous soils, the 2017 a very expressive wine with mouthwatering white peach and ripe green apple flavours. There is some real concentration here combined with lovely freshness which suggests good ageing potential. Drink from 2018.Armit Wines

The 2013 vintage was very difficult vintage to manage, with a heavily reduced crop after the hail. This superb White Burgundy has a lovely perfume, and very Puligny-Montrachet in style.
