Scores

Bright yellow. Ripe yellow apple, strawberry and hints of truffle and iodine on the enticing, complex nose. Then rich and dense in the mouth, with lovely acidity and pure floral flavours of orchard fruits and caramel. The very long finish is multilayered and suave. Much deeper, richer and more complex than the 2013 Pinot Gris Dirstelberg; the depth and power most likely have to do with the greater limestone presence in the soil compared with the Dirstelberg.

Tasting Notes

The sun baked Zinnkoepflé vineyard is famed for the production of full flavoured wines. An intense aroma of spicy pears and apples is followed by generous flavours of delicate tropical fruits balanced by a zingy, refreshing acidity.
