We are delighted to announce the release of the 2015 vintage of Sassicaia from Tenuta San Guido. The 2015 vintage once again captures the essence of this truly unique terroir showcasing generous and refined black fruit aromas, perfectly balanced as always by beautiful freshness and elegance. There has been much excitement about 2015 in Tuscany which the estate compares to the very famous 1985 vintage. Both shared similar climatic conditions - a mild winter that was followed by heavy rains in the spring and a hot summer, with higher than average temperatures in June and July, resulting in a very healthy vineyard and excellent ripening of the grapes.

98 points in his most recent tasting. Antonio Galloni’s early Bolgheri reports say that the “
warm, dry growing season produced generous, highly expressive wines.” There is no doubt that serious wine collectors will want to make considerable space for this release.

Brief History about the Iconic Sassicaia
In the 1940s, a project of passion was born when the truly visionary Marchese Mario Incisa Della Rochetta realised the vast potential of Bordeaux varieties in Bolgheri, a coastal area of Tuscany previously unknown for its wine production. This project was honed over twenty years and only shared with close friends and neighbours at the time. However, the great quality on display could not be kept a secret forever and eventually under immense pressure from their peers the family released the first commercial vintage of Sassicaia in 1968. Since then, accolades and acclaim have followed one of the most profound Cabernet dominant wines in the world to become the flagship Super Tuscan, and arguably Italy’s most important wine.
