An Armit Wines exclusive and a Faiveley monopole high on the slopes of Gevrey, this elegant and appealing wine has a bouquet of sweet plums and blackcurrants with notes of exotic smoke. On the palate, supple cherry flavours and seamless tannins are balanced by a refreshing raspberry and cassis character which leads to an impressive finish. A wine which could be approachable in a few years, it has the energy and structure for long ageing. Drink from 2021.

The 2019 Bourgogne Rouge "Cuvée Maison Dieu" comes from vines just under those of Château de Pommard, close to the roundabout. It has a generous bouquet with red cherries and raspberry fruit. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, crunchy red fruit with a slightly terse finish. Neil Martinmore
