2006 Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume Vignobles de Vaulorent

Domaine William Fèvre, Burgundy & Chablis Wine Region, France

Chardonnay, Drinking Now 2021

Tasting Notes

The baby Grand Cru, showing the silkiness and finesse of a top vineyard. This is a distinctive, overtly mineral wine with a lovely balance and sense of presence. Once again, this is one of the best value wines in the range. Drink 2008-2018.

Reviews & Scores

Good pale color. Reserved aromas of citrus peel and powdered stone. Rich, silky and fairly large-scaled but with a dense minerally character keeping the wine quite fresh. This boasts almost grand cru-like size and breadth. A powerful, minerally wine with a very long, rising finish that saturates the palate with dusty stone. William Fevre is the largest owner of Fourchaume, with 3.63 hectares of vines in eight parcels. The selection for this wine is based on tasting, but normally features mostly the oldest parcels. 90-93 points

This is delightful, easy Chablis. Very pretty, pale lemon gold. This has really good concentration and a lovely texture and weight in the mouth. Bright citrus zest, with a lovely line of minerality and white peachy fruit. The lovely soft acidity keeps everything fresh. Perfect. Drink from release.
