Tasting Notes

Sweet, ripe plum aromas with attractive, juicy dark fruit characters on the palate.  There are hints of cloves and exotic spices on the finish.  The tannins are firm, yet smooth, and a bright refreshing acidity balances the pure medium bodied, plum fruit.  Drink 2015 -2025

Reviews & Scores

Showing better than it did from barrel (thankfully), this wine has a nice hint of camphor, damp earth, licorice, truffle and spice box. There is some mulberry and black fruit, and the wine has a certain minerality, but again, it comes across as slightly chunky, muscular and masculine. The tannins argue for giving it 4-5 years of cellaring and drinking it within the following 10-12 years.

74% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Sémillon. Barrel sample. Fragrant and pure with pin-point precision. All in length and line. Floral, citrus aromas. Delicious fruit but again controlled, the finish pebble-sucking and saline. Atypical white Bordeaux. Could be burgundy – Puligny? JR
