Querciabella's 2015 Batàr (Chardonnay/Pinot Bianco) is very delicate and restrained, especially within the context of the year. Lemon confit, white flowers, orange peel and mint all develop nicely in the glass, but it is the wine's persistence that stands out most. The 2015 is one of the most polished, gracious Batàrs I can remember tasting.

The nose is very involved showing green apples, preserved lemons, almond granita and vanilla. Full body, medium acidity and a creamy finish. Drink now. Made from organic grapes.

The 2018 Mongrana, Querciabella's entry-level red, is fabulous. A burst of dark cherry, plum, spice, new leather and chocolate gives the 2018 so much immediacy and sheer appeal. Overall, this is a pretty restrained style for the Tuscan coast. There is so much to like here. 90 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinousmore
