Tasting Notes

Barrua is an elegant wine that shows exceptional workmanship. It is a lively, deep ruby red colour and holds complex scents of mature red fruits (mainly black cherry), spices, notes of liquorice and hints of myrtle.

Reviews & Scores

An intense, dense and beautiful red with hints of dried rosemary and berries as well as peppery meat undertones. Full and very soft with velvety tannins and a long finish. One of the softest and most savory Barruas made yet. Mostly carignan, about 10% cabernet sauvignon and 10% merlot. Drink or hold.
92 Points, James Suckling

An elegant and balanced red, with fine tannins wrapped around a core of sappy black currant and black cherry fruit. Accents of mocha, sandalwood and violet echo on the finish. Carignano, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Drink now through 2024. 8,300 cases made.
91 Points, Wine Spectator
